Are You a Hedge Witch or Just Good at Boundaries?

Maybe you don’t cast circles.
Maybe you just know when not to answer the phone.

You keep salt by the door and your peace guarded like a spell. You prune your life like an herb garden, cutting away what no longer blooms. The world calls it antisocial. We call it sacred practice.

You don’t need a coven to know your worth, or a ritual robe to understand energy exchange. You’ve learned to say no without guilt, to protect your solitude like a flame that keeps your soul warm. That’s hedge witch behavior, whether you call it that or not.

Hedge witches live between worlds, half in and half out. They tend their own gates. They heal with what they have: herbs, boundaries, and a refusal to be consumed. They don’t wait for permission to rest, to say no, to walk away.

Your grandmother might have just called it having sense.
Your therapist might call it self-care.
We call it craft.

So if you’ve been told you’re too much, too quiet, or too hard to reach, maybe it’s not isolation, it’s initiation.

You’ve built something most people never will:
A life that answers to you.
