Description
The Record. Wethersfield, Connecticut, 1648. She confessed to what they needed her to confess. The court wrote it down and called the writing proof.
The Reclamation. A confession extracted is a story they told themselves, so we let her tell a different one: she signs their paper, smiles at their relief, and lets them believe the matter is settled. Ash is what remains of their story. Fire is what she kept for herself. Bright lemon and bergamot over black spruce, amber, and smoke, the scent of a woman who told them exactly what they wanted to hear and remained entirely unconvinced.
Smells Like
Bright citrus, black spruce, warm amber, jasmine in shadow, myrrh, benzoin, labdanum, vanilla, guaiac wood, and vetiver smoke.
Feels Like
A church door closing. Smoke in your hair the morning after. The calm that comes from noticing who benefits from the story.
Wear When
Wear when the record is incomplete and you have questions.
